New Imamnazar border crossing point opened on Turkmen-Afghan border

On the territory of Atamurat region in Lebap province, a new border crossing point Imamnazar has been constructed the parameters of which meet the international standards.

As the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports, all conditions for effective work of the personnel, operative and qualitative implementation of border crossing functions including luggage and vehicle examination were created. It will enable to raise the level of servicing the cargo flow through Turkmen-Afghan border, and prevent smuggling, including narcotics.

Along with the finishing the construction of the border crossing point, the building of 100 km road Atamurat-Imamnazar has also been completed.

According to the Turkmen State News Agency (TDH), the opening ceremony of Imamnazar Border Crossing Point will be held August 13.

In the nearest future, a similar border crossing point will be built on the right bank of the Amudarya River, on the territory of Farap region, on the border with neighboring Uzbekistan. |
