Turkmenistan’s Independence Day marked in Moscow

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation hosted an official reception in Moscow marking the 27th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence. Members of the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, foreign diplomats accredited in Moscow, representatives of business circles of the two countries, leaders of public associations, workers of science and culture, journalists, representatives of Turkmen diaspora in the regions of the Russian Federation gathered to congratulate the hosts on this occasion.

Addressing the audience, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation Batyr Niyazliev noted that the centuries-old friendly and good-neighborly relations of the Turkmen and Russian peoples logically continue in the modern history of the two countries.

The State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin warmly congratulated the participants of the celebration and noted the successful development of bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The Russian diplomat noted the fruitfulness of the meetings and talks held this year by the leaders of the two countries, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin, and praised Turkmenistan’s foreign policy based on the status of permanent neutrality, peacefulness and good neighborliness.
