Works by Turkmen painter exhibited in US capital

An exhibition of works by the People's Artist of Turkmenistan, Durdy Bayramov, was held at the World Bank in Washington, DC, with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States. The exhibition was dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of Turkmenistan's status of permanent neutrality.

The exhibition was organized by the Bayramov Museum in Toronto (Canada) in collaboration with the World Bank Group Art Program in Washington, DC. It was for the first time that the works by the famous Turkmen painter were presented to the American public. The exhibition included paintings depicting the landscape and traditions of Turkmenistan, as well as the hospitality and friendliness of its people. Thousands of the World Bank visitors were able to view the exhibition over the two-week period.

The exhibition opening ceremony was attended by the representatives of the US government, the international banking community, members of the Turkmen diaspora, diplomats accredited in the US capital. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Washington Meret Orazov stressed the importance of this event in terms of increasing awareness of Turkmen fine arts around the world and promoting cultural exchange between the two countries.
