President of Turkmenistan completes official visit to Hungary

The final day of the official visit by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Hungary began with a meeting with representatives of the Hungarian business community.

The meeting was attended by the heads of the largest Hungarian companies, including Gedeon Richter, MVM, Concorde Travel and others, as well as members of the Turkmen government delegation.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov delivered a speech at the meeting. Welcoming the representatives of the Hungarian business, the Turkmen leader thanked them for the opportunity to acquaint the Hungarian business community with the economic strategy and investment projects of independent Turkmenistan.

Outlining Turkmenistan's approaches to development of the economic strategy, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that Turkmenistan's economy is currently guided by the principles of diversification with the focus on establishing the high-tech and knowledge-intensive industries, application of international best practice and manufacturing products and services that meet the highest international standards. In this regard, the Turkmen leader noted that the good growth and prospects of the Turkmen economy are best evidenced by the statistics of the well-known international organization.

Favorable economic prospects and strong financial positions create good opportunities for the acceleration of economic reforms and establishment of a highly efficient economic system that meets the conditions of the market economy. Elaborating on this issue, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited the business community of Hungary to step up their investments in Turkmenistan.

Using arguments in favor of establishing mutually beneficial partnership, the President of Turkmenistan cited a number of investment-attractive sectors of the Turkmen economy, including the fuel and energy sector, chemical industry, transport and communication, textile and pharmaceutical industry, construction industry, tourism, etc.

After the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan proceeded to the Square of Heroes, where he attended the ceremony of laying flowers at the grave of the Unknown Soldier.

After the ceremony the President's cortege proceeded to Budapest’s international airport “Franz Liszt”, from where the head of state left home.
