Monument-symbol of city and amusement park inaugurated in Ashgabat

Monument “My white city of Ashgabat” and amusement park “Ashgabat” have been inaugurated in the Turkmen capital. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov participated in the inauguration ceremonies marking Day of Ashgabat.

The height of Monument “My white city of Ashgabat” is 25 meters. The top of the monument is crowned with olive branches embodying permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan. The middle part of the monument consists of three columns symbolizing a policy to ensure global peace, security and sustainable development. The lower part of three columns represents independence, neutrality and happiness. The next element is a heart-shaped construction encircling the stele, signifying love, since the name of Ashgabat means a city of lovers. The word “Aşgabat” is inscribed with golden letters inside carpet ornaments on the surface of the main column. At the bottom of the column is an open book, symbolizing the fact that the city is featured in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Amusement park “Ashgabat” is one of the oldest parks of the Turkmen capital. It has been reopened following a major reconstruction. This reconstruction has not affected the park’s basic configuration and surrounding “green” component. Designers and builders were mindful of the rich history of the park. At the same time, the park abounds with very diverse new attractions, carousels, swings and playgrounds for children. According to designers, the park’s major advantage is that it provides comfort for family leisure. Both children and adults will be able to spend their leisure time actively and productively.

After viewing the renovated park, President of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that visitors would have a lot of most wonderful and amazing experiences, and the park would turn into a favorite holiday destination for residents and visitors of the Turkmen capital.
