Akhal-Teke horse day celebrated at Akhal-Teke equestrian complex

Festivities marking the Akhal-Teke horse day were held at the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex near Ashgabat. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov participated in the festive events.

The head of state took part in the race of senior horse riding coaches. Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, riding the stallion nicknamed Garahan (Black Khan), number seven, won the race with an impressive margin over the rest of riders.

Myalikmurad Muhammedov on Yashlyk (Youth) horse came second in the race of senior riders. Batyr Redzhepov on Gerchek (Brave) horse won the third place.

Second and third place winners received prizes – keys to SUV cars. The race winner - President of Turkmenistan - was presented with a magnificent racer named Beghan.

Having made a lap of honor on Beghan, the President of Turkmenistan announced his decision to hand his horse to the popular equestrian group “Galkynysh” (Revival).

The race was followed by the final round of the international beauty contest among the Akhal-Teke horses. Ten magnificent Akhal-Teke horses reached the final after qualifying rounds. Of them, the jury picked dark bay four-year stallion named Gorkmaz (Fearless) from the private stud as the winner. The horse owner Bayrammyrat Khallyev was awarded the main prize of the President of Turkmenistan - Mercedes-Benz SUV car and Challenge Cup.

The festivities finished with the ceremony of awarding the winners of the contest on artistic embodiment of Akhal-Teke horses in the works of fine and decorative arts, print products and photographs and on TV. The performance by the national equestrian group “Galkynysh” wrapped up the program of festivities.
