Ambassador of New Zealand gets accreditation in Turkmenistan

Speaker of the Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan Akja Nurberdieva received credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand to Turkmenistan, Hamish Neville Francis Cooper.

During the meeting, the diplomat was briefed on the main directions and priorities of domestic and foreign policy of Turkmenistan and socio-economic reforms. The Ambassador also got acquainted with the structure and legislative activities of the national parliament.

The diplomat noted his country's interest in intensifying cooperation with Turkmenistan, both bilaterally and in the framework of international organizations, especially the UN.

Hamish Cooper was also held talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan.
As part of the cultural program, the Ambassador viewed a number of attractions in Ashgabat.
