President of Turkey completes state visit to Turkmenistan

President of Turkey Abdullah Gul has completed his state visit to Turkmenistan. On the final day of the visit, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Abdullah Gul visited the Ahalteke Equestrian Complex situated in the foothills of Kopet Dagh. They were accompanied by members of the government delegation of the Republic of Turkey, as well as representatives of the mass media of Turkey and Turkmenistan.

At the Ahalteke Equestrian Complex, the President of Turkmenistan presented the President of Turkey with a magnificent sorrel Akhal-Teke horse named Arkadash, as a sign of respect and sincere friendship between the two nations. The Turkmen leader rode Arkadash to demonstrate the distinguished guest the horse’s features, sharp movements and graceful gait, obedience to the rider and perfect skills to execute commands and exercises.

Then, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Abdullah Gul viewed the demonstration exercises of pure-breed Akhal-Teke horses - repeated winners of national exhibitions, prestigious international competitions and exhibitions.

Upon completion of the tour of the Ahalteke Equestrian Complex, the presidents of Turkmenistan and Turkey said goodbye to each other, expressing full satisfaction with the outcome of the summit talks held the day before. They exchanged wishes of peace and prosperity to the Turkmen and Turkish peoples.

On the final day of his visit, President Abdullah Gul met with Turkish businessmen operating in Turkmenistan. The meeting took place at Ashgabat’s business center Mizan. The sides expressed deep satisfaction with the outcome of the Turkmen-Turkish summit talks that open up new opportunities for strengthening and expanding the traditional ties and establishing new business contacts.

In the afternoon, President Abdullah Gul met with representatives of the mass media of Turkmenistan at Oguzkent hotel. The President of Turkey briefed them on the outcome of his state visit to Turkmenistan, including new agreements reached during the summit talks that will complement a strong legal framework of cooperation in a wide range of areas. Responding to questions from journalists, the head of the Republic of Turkey praised the outcome of the state visit to Turkmenistan, calling it effective in terms of making important decisions and agreeing on new approaches to enhancing cooperation. After the meeting with journalists, the Turkish leader headed to the Ashgabat International Airport, from where he left for Turkey.
