On April 18, Ashgabat will host the second meeting on preparation of an international conference of foreign ministers on Afghanistan.
It will be attended by delegations from 15 countries and 14 observer countries, including delegations from Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, UK, Germany, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, UAE, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Tajikistan, Turkey, France, Japan and delegations of 10 international and regional organizations, including the UN, EU, NATO, OSCE and UNAMA.
The Ashgabat meeting will discuss preparations for an international conference on Afghanistan, scheduled for June 14, 2012, in Kabul, at the level of foreign ministers. The preparatory meeting will consider the draft documents “Istanbul process: a new agenda for regional cooperation in the Heart of Asia.” The concept of implementation of the Istanbul process on regional security and cooperation for a secure and stable Afghanistan,” and the Kabul Declaration.
