As part of the General Programme on Providing Clean Drinking Water to Settlements of Turkmenistan, small capacity water treatment plants will be built in all regions of the country.
To this effect, local administrations will sign contracts with several local companies and Turkish company “Orin”. The facilities should be commissioned by September 2012.
According to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, construction in the regions of new engineering structures and facilities that would receive water from water springs, purify and supply this water to consumers will ensure supplies of high quality tap water to people living in remote rural areas.
At a government meeting held yesterday, the President stressed that this measure would also ensure the efficient use of available water resources and prevention of their unjustified loss, providing all residents of Turkmenistan with crystal clear water.
