President’s book on medicinal plants of Turkmenistan translated into Chinese

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s book “Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan” has been translated into Chinese and published in China in honor of the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence. As the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reports, this project was initiated and organized by the Chinese Society for Friendship with Foreign Countries and its member – the Friendship Society China-Central Asia with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in China.

Translation into Chinese has been carried out under the guidance of the Assistant Professor of the Institute of Foreign Languages of Peking University, Van Ligan. Experts of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Shanghai company for studying Euro-Asian-American traditional medicine also participated in preparation and printing of the book.

It should be recalled that this book was printed for mass circulation in Turkmen, Russian, English and several other languages. The President's book describes the characteristics of local medicinal plants with pictures, offers an overview of the achievements of Turkmen medicine over the past 14 years, a historical sketch of the study and application of medicinal plants in Turkmenistan, various recipes and other information.
