Major reconstruction of Bitarap Turkmenistan avenue completed

The reconstructed five-kilometer highway - Bitarap Turkmenistan avenue was inaugurated in Ashgabat yesterday. As the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the inauguration ceremony which has been timed to coincide with celebrations to mark the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.

Following the major reconstruction, Bitarap Turkmenistan avenue is now part of transport facilities of the first technical category. The total width of its roadway is 30 feet. Each direction has four lanes. Together with sidewalks, boskets, the dividing strip and secondary roads, the highway width is 80 feet. Curbs of the sidewalks and roadways are paved with granite.

Ornamental trees and shrubs were planted along the avenue. Along the highway, there are modern, furnished in traditional style bus stops with microclimate systems.
