A team of Turkmen doctors has conducted the first joint replacement operation. The operation took place at the International Center of Traumatology that was opened in Ashgabat earlier this month, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported.
The operation was conducted on Igor Belchikov, 41-year-old, bedridden builder from Balkanabat, who six months ago received industrial injury. During the operation, the patient’s femoral bone head was replaced with artificial hip joint made in Italy. The operation went without complications.
