Ashgabat residents get 3D cinema

The third modern cinema called “Ashgabat” opened in the Turkmen capital. The facility has been built in Makhtumkuli Avenue, in the city center, by French company Vinci. It was ordered by the state concern “Turkmenneftegazstroy.”

It is for the first time that Ashgabat residents will be able to watch movies in 3D format. The facade of the cinema is lined with white marble and gray granite and decorated with stained glass. The cinema has two movie theaters with 500 and 70 seats.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inaugurated the cinema by cutting the traditional ribbon. The head of state expressed the wish that the cinema’s repertoire should include more films for children and young people who are on summer vacation now.

It should be recalled that up to this point there operated only two cinemas with modern equipment called “Vatan” and “Turkmenistan”.
