Begench Gundogdyev appointed Minister of Defence of Turkmenistan

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree appointing Major-General Begench Gundogdyev Minister of Defence of Turkmenistan. The decree was signed at the meeting of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan that was held at the Ministry of Defense yesterday. The meeting was attended by members of the Cabinet of Ministers, speaker of the Mejlis, heads and staff of military and law enforcement agencies.  

As the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat quoting the press service of the Turkmen leader, by the same decree, Major-General Begench Gundogdyev was relieved of the post of First Deputy Minister of Defence - Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan.

By a separate decree of the President of Turkmenistan, Major General Ismail Ismailov, formerly Deputy Minister of Defence - Chief of the office of supplies and logistics of the Ministry of Defence, was appointed to the vacant post.
