Turkmenistan opens permanent mission to UN office in Geneva

Turkmenistan will soon open a permanent mission to the United Nations Office in Geneva, where a number of key UN agencies, as well as the headquarters of other major international organizations are situated. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
Successfully interacting with leading institutions of the United Nations, Turkmenistan is ready to expand the fruitful contacts established in the years of independence, the minister said.

A decree authorizing the opening of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan in Switzerland was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The decree also approved personnel arrangements, budget of the mission for 2011 and budgets of the diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan in the European Union for 2011.
