US Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs arrives in Ashgabat

The US Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Susan Elliott arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit.

During the visit, Susan Elliott held talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Noting the progress of the Turkmen-American cooperation in various fields, the sides noted the need to continue to work together on such important issues as political relations, trade and economic ties, cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

The sides also noted the importance of new forms of bilateral cooperation, such as the annual political consultations between Turkmenistan and the United States, as well as the work of the Turkmen-American Business Council.

Susan Elliott also held talks at the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan. During the visit, the Deputy Assistant Secretary will participate in the International Exhibition and Conference dedicated to the prospects of development and international cooperation in the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan.
