New products of Turkmen book market demonstrated at the 23rd Moscow International Exhibition and Fair
The traditional 23rd Moscow International Book Exhibition and Fair opened at the largest pavilion of the All-Russia Exhibition Centre. Professional publishers from around the world and book lovers from the Russian capital had the opportunity to see the novelties of the Turkmen book market among two hundred thousand books from 56 countries. The National Publishing Service of Turkmenistan presented at the exhibition more than a hundred copies of fiction books, educational and children's literature and periodicals printed in accordance with high standards of printing.
Turkmen printers, participating in the book fair for the second time, reasserted themselves as worthy players in the world publishing market, building up year by year the technology level of their products, expanding its thematic range and, at the same time, making books more accessible to the widest possible audience. The modernization of production made it possible in recent years to reduce many times the cost of books published in Turkmenistan. A significant growth in demand is also caused by the multi-lingual nature of the most publications printed simultaneously in Turkmen, Russian and English languages.
A special segment of the publishing market of Turkmenistan belongs to the richly decorated albums devoted to historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people as well as the present day of the country. A valuable decoration for any bookshelf will be the two-volume collection of recipes "Turkmen Cuisine", the collection of Turkmen Fairy Tales "White-Winged Dream of the Renaissance", Encyclopedias "Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan" and "Turkmen Carpets" that contain the unique texts and illustrations.
The book "Ahal Teke - Our Pride and Glory" by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was not only of interest to the general reader but also received recognition of the professional community at the Moscow forum. The jury of the VII International Contest of CIS member states "The Art of Books" awarded the book a diploma in the nomination "My Country". The award was ceremonially handed to the representative of the Turkmen State Publishing Service.
Muscovites and guests of the book fair also liked the colorful album "Avaza - the Land of Renovation" dedicated to the construction of the tourist area of international level on the shores of the Caspian Sea. According to many guests, the book made them think about visiting the seaside resort of Turkmenistan next summer.
The stand of the Turkmen State Publishing Service was especially popular in connection with another international book show "Book is the Way to Cooperation and Progress" to be held later this month at the main Exhibition Center of Ashgabat "Sergi Koshgi". Many of the exhibitors at the book fair in Moscow in conversation with representatives of the Turkmen delegation expressed their interest in participating in this exhibition, which is becoming more popular with the international publishing community. According to the Turkmen printers, their participation in the Moscow forum was an important step to establish multi-faceted relations that will get further development already in Ashgabat.
