French company Bouygues was awarded a contract for manufacturing fireworks in Turkmenistan, Turkmenbusiness.org reports. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov signed a decree to this effect yesterday.

Turkmengas state concern will make a contract worth US $ 2, 100 million with French company Bouygues for manufacturing fireworks in 2007-2008.

The fireworks will serve as decoration of Turkmenistan's main holidays - Day of Ruhnama (April 12), Independence Day (October 27), Neutrality Day (December 12), New Year festivities (December 31), State Flag Day and Birthday of the first president of Turkmenistan, Saparmurat Niyazov (February 19).
