Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov signed a resolution reprimanding minister of culture, TV and radio of Turkmenistan, Enebay Atayeva.

According to the resolution, the minister was reprimanded "for weak supervision over the work of the Turkmen TV, poor quality of TV programmes, as well as for other shortcomings in the work of the TV.

As the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports, the head of state criticized the work of the national TV at a Cabinet meeting on March 16.

In particular, Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov noted the lack of "genuinely interesting, highly artistic programmes" on TV channels of Turkmenistan. The president said that "lack of creativity, use of "cliches" and old stereotypes" were the reason for that.

"If she fails to take measures to improve the performance of the TV, E.Atayeva will be dismissed from her position," the Turkmenistan.ru's correspondent was told in the press service of the Turkmen president.
