The Central Bank of Turkmenistan issued sets of commemorative golden and silver coins on State Flag Day, the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports. Each set consists of 3 coins, each worth Manat 1000. Silver coins with the diameter of 38,61 mm and the weight of 28,28 gram were made of silver of the 925 standard. Their golden analogues (916,7 standard) weight 39,94 gram with the same diameter.
The commemorative coins were minted by British Royal Mint. In all, there were minted 150 sets of golden and 150 sets of silver coins with quality proof certificates of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan attached to them.
Both silver and golden coins carry images of the modern architecture of Ashgabat. Pictures of main state symbols of Turkmenistan - State Flag and State Emblem - are also depicted on coins. The face side of one of the coins carries a picture of the half face of the first president of Turkmenistan, Saparmurat Niyazov, with presidential standard on the reverse side.
