Turkmenistan extends social benefits for population until 2030
As the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports, Turkmenistan's supreme representative and legislative body Khalk Maslakhaty (People's Council) has adopted a program of development of the basic sector of the national economy, oil and gas, until 2030.

"Turkmenistan's explored hydrocarbon resources are enough for 250 years. This is to say that the state can get vast profits and support its citizens," Turkmen President Saparmurat Niyazov said at the meeting. According to the head of state, the next two-fold increase in salaries, pensions and allowances is scheduled for 2008.

The members of the People's Council adopted a decision to extend free use of gas, electricity, water and salt for the citizens of Turkmenistan until 2030. The gasoline price has also been fixed until 2030. It has stood unchangeable at 400 manat per liter for the last 5 years (one US dollar is currently equals 23,5 thousand manat at the market exchange rate).
