The ceremony was held in Magtymguly Turkmen National Music and Drama Theater. The Ministry of culture and broadcasting of Turkmenistan and the Indian Embassy in Ashgabat organized the presentation. As the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports, the members of the Turkmen government and national parliament, heads of the state, public and scientific organizations, chiefs of diplomatic missions accredited to Ashgabat, creative intellectuals, directors and teaching staff of the higher educational establishments and students attended the presentation.
It was pointed out that the philosophic creation by Saparmurat Niyazov was translated into more than 30 languages. The presentation participants especially stressed that owing to Ruhnama readers of many countries got the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the history of the Turkmen nation, understand the goals and aspirations of this ancient nation on the way to national revival.
According to the Ambassador of India to Turkmenistan, Ram Pal Kaushik, Ruhnama, its first volume was also translated into Hindi, has caused great public interest. It is natural, "for the centuries-old friendship between Turkmen and Indian peoples is deeply rooted and dates back to the time of great ruler Bairam Khan Turkmen," the diplomat said. Today, the Ambassador went on, the established friendly relations between the two countries enable the states to successfully realize mutually beneficial projects in different economic areas and develop cultural relations.
The presentation was followed by a concert performed by famous actors, music and dance groups. The Turkmen and Indian songs and popular dances were in the program of the concert.
According to the State News Service (TDH), in the coming days, presentations of Ruhnama in the Armenian, French, Arabic and Malaisian state languages will be held.
Public organizations participating in the Galkynysh (Revival) movement organized a number of events dated to the fifth anniversary of the book by President of Turkmenistan. Among them are readers' conferences, awarding of winners of creative contests devoted to Ruhnama and exhibitions.
The National Museum of Turkmenistan opened the exhibition "Ruhnama and Cultural Heritage" on the eve of the presentation. The forum to be attended by historians, literary critics, linguists and translators of Ruhnama from over 20 states will become one of the remarkable events in the cultural and scientific life of the country.
The festival events will conclude on September 12 with theatrical performance in the Ruhiet Palace. The best professional performers, musical ensembles, theatrical and folklore groups of Turkmenistan will take part in it, and the colorful fires will be shot to decorate the sky in the evening.
