President of Turkmenistan orders construction of 8-store school for 600 pupils
As the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports referring to the press service of the Turkmen president, Saparmurat Niyazov signed a decree to this effect yesterday. According to the decree, Turkish company Macc Insaat Sanai Yatyrym we Tijaret LTD STI was awarded a contract for construction of an 8-store school for 600 pupils in the Turkmen capital. The cost of the project, including landscaping of the adjacent territory, totals US $ 8, 920 mln. The decree says the facility is to be commissioned by September 2007.

It should be noted that the President of Turkmenistan signed a special decree this February instructing the ministries, authorities of the national economy industries and the Ashgabat mayor's office to ensure construction at their own expense of schools and kindergartens in the capital. The facilities are to be commissioned in 2006-2007. The document also says that relevant projects should be submitted in the established manner for approval by the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan in the 30-day period.
