Turkmenistan's President Saparmurat Niyazov signed four contracts worth US $ 230 mln with
French Bouygues company's head Martin Bouygues in Ashgabat today.
Under the contracts, the famous
French construction company will build an administrative building for the trade and consumers' association ministry and the state commodity and raw materials exchange at a total cost of US $ 64 mln, an administrative centre for the ministries and establishments of the country's agricultural sector worth US $ 89,125 mln, an academy for the national security and state border services of Turkmenistan worth US $ 36 mln in Ashgabat and a marble and granite processing plant amounting to Euro $ 26,7 mln in the place of Ovadan Depe.
Touching on the prospects of cooperation, the Turkmen president suggested that the
French company work out a project on construction of a mountain ice-skiing complex.
Bouygues has already built a number of large facilities in Turkmenistan, including a presidential palace, Geoktepe and Gypchak mosques, the Ruhiyet congress and arts palace, a fine arts museum and several ministries. The company is currently building the main building of the Turkmen state university named after Magtumguly and a media centre.
