President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov awarded medals to heads of law enforcement agencies of Turkmenistan for their personal contribution to strengthening independence, protection of territorial integrity, constitutional order, enhancing homeland defense, taking into account their long-standing impeccable service to protect and consolidate the foundations of the Turkmen sovereignty, as well as to commemorate the 19th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan.
As the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat, among the awardees are Defense Minister Yaylym Berdiyev, Head of the State Border Service Myrat Yslamov, Minister of National Security Charymyrat Amanov, Head of the State Drug Service for Drugs Aman Garayev, Chairman of the State Customs Service Meretgeldi Berdiyev and Minister of Internal Affairs Isgender Mulikov.
By a separate decree of the President of Turkmenistan, the rank of major general was conferred on Head of the State Service for Drugs Aman Garayev and First Deputy Minister of Defence/Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Begench Gundogdyev. Chairman of the State Customs Service Meretgeldi Berdiyev was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel.
Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was awarded a commemorative medal in honor of the 19th anniversary of independence. The decision to this effect was made by the national parliament.
