Akhal-Teke stallion opened parade in honor of Independence Day of Turkmenistan
A military parade in honor of Independence Day of Turkmenistan was held near the Monument of Independence in the south of Ashgabat. It was attended by the President of Turkmenistan, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Army General Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH), a rider in military uniform on the Akhal-Teke horse was the first to appear on the square in front of the National Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan. This beautiful horse, who proudly headed the Battalion of the Honor Guard, participated in the Victory Day Parade on the Red Square in Moscow, which was held on May 9 in honor of the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The battalions composed of the best representatives of all the armed branches of the Armed Forces, students of military schools and cadets marched past the stands. The battalion of civil defense participated in the parade for the first time.

Columns of military cars of special purpose "Land Rower", armored personnel carriers, artillery batteries "Rapier", D-20 and D-30, columns of mechanized rocket launchers - modern systems of salvo fire "Grad", "Hurricane", "Whirlwind", missile launch "Chain Armor" adopted by the air defense units, missiles "Wasp", "Pechora", "C-200" also passed along Archabil Avenue.

Combat helicopters MI-24 and MI-8, as well as a squadron of Su-25 aircrafts flew over the stands. The music performance by the combined military orchestra of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan wrapped up the parade in honor of the 19th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan.
