Russia views cooperation with Turkmenistan in the gas sphere as strategic, with great respect for partners, ITAR-TASS news agency quotes Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin, who is a member of the Russian delegation at the talks in Turkmenbashi.
According to the vice-premier, Russia and Turkmenistan are not competing in the gas market of China. "We don't compete in the Chinese market," he stressed.
"The Turkmenistan-China cooperation is different from ours, because the Chinese companies issue credits, develop fields, make investments, and Turkmenistan participates in construction of gas pipelines. I think that the parameters of price of contracts should be considered as a whole," he continued.
Igor Sechin also said that Gazprom currently continues talks with Chinese partners to identify price parameters of their future contracts. According to him, "China's gas consumption is almost unlimited, and the increase in gas consumption in China, given its economy, can be significant, therefore one simply has to continue working there."
