Turkmenistan has completed laying a new pipeline stretching for about two hundred kilometers. The construction was done under the contract of the state concern "Turkmengaz" with Russian company "MRK Engineering" for the total amount of US $ 176.6 million. The capacity of the pipeline at the first stage will reach 3 billion cubic meters gas per year, and in future it will be brought up to 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
This was reported by Vice Premier Baymurad Hojamuhammedov at a cabinet meeting on October 14, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent said. According to Baymurad Hojamuhammedov, the new pipeline will connect ready for commercial development deposits in the Karakum Desert with the existing pipeline system SAC-2 and Chiva-Beineu near compressor station "Yylanly". The pipeline will increase the supply of Turkmen gas to Russia.
