Turkmenistan has summed up the results of the contest titled "Golden Age of Turkmen people" among writers, artists, amateur young singers and gifted children, which was held under the patronage of the President of Turkmenistan ahead of the 19th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan. Winners were awarded gold chains and cash prizes ranging from 500 to 3000 US dollars allocated from the presidential endowment fund.
As the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat, prizes of the nationwide contest were awarded for "creation of mature works, revealing the true meaning of labor in the name of making the country one of the wealthier nations of the world, glorifying the national peculiarities of the Turkmen nation, its unity and cohesion, great successes, the glorious historical past, national traditions and customs, many sparkling facets of art, the high culture replete with generosity and wisdom."
Among the winners are poets, writers, journalists, translators, musicians, artists, architects, and carpet makers, who received a gold chain and one thousand US dollars for their works.
Three thousand dollars were awarded to creative teams of the Main Drama Theatre of Turkmenistan named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashi, the National Music and Drama Theatre named after Makhtumkuli, the National Youth Theatre of Alp Arslan, the State Russian Drama Theatre named after A. Pushkin, the Turkmen State Puppet Theater, a number of regional theaters and amateur theaters, as well as orchestras and folk ensembles.
The employee of the Palace of children and youth of the city of Ashgabat, Ogulsapar Begmyradov, received a gold chain and one thousand US dollars "for her active participation in the opening ceremonies of new facilities, state-level celebrations, her merits in describing the immense love of the younger generation to the Motherland, native people through the art of poetry recitation."
Similar award received honored artist of Azerbaijan Gulyanag Zakir Mammad Gyzy for skillful performance Turkmen and Azeri songs glorifying the new era of Renaissance.
