The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus ratified the agreement between the governments of Belarus and Turkmenistan on military and military-technical cooperation on October 4. The agreement was signed on January 25, 2010 in Minsk.
As BelaPAN news agency reported, the agreement provides for cooperation in the sphere of international security and defense policy, education, military construction and development of the armed forces, legal and social welfare activities of the armed forces, military medicine and public health. According to the agreement, the sides undertake to ensure safety of information received under the military and military-technical cooperation, and comply with the agreed level of confidentiality.
In addition, Turkmenistan and Belarus acknowledge that products, technologies and information used as part of this agreement may be subject to intellectual property rights of the state party that transferred these rights, and provide protection of this property, the agency said.
