The Turkmen capital hosted a working meeting of heads of staff of border services of the CIS countries on September 29. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Russian Federation, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
According to the official report, the sides discussed issues of border security of the CIS, delivered reports on their experience in combating international terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal migration and other issues.
The sides exchanged views on enhancing border activities aimed at maintaining stability on the external borders of the CIS countries in contemporary conditions and joint preventive operations, including those to curb poaching in the sea areas.
Participants also made a study tour to Kaahka district of Turkmenistan, as well as to one of the frontier posts of the new model fitted with advanced and special equipment which represents a modern complex of service and domestic facilities.
