Turkmenistan commissioned ninety road bridges on major transport arteries linking all the provinces of the country. Their total cost exceeds US $ 287 million.
According to the TDH, new bridges over the large and small rivers, permanent and temporary streams flowing down the slopes of the Kopet Dagh and Balhan mountains, irrigation canals, reservoirs and railroad tracks were erected on the highways Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi, Ashgabat-Mary-Turkmenabat Farab and Ashgabat-Karakum-Dashoguz that are currently under construction.
The width of the carriageway of the bridges is 12.5 meters in each direction. They are enclosed by special metal barrier elements. Bridges are equipped with pedestrian crossings and lighting systems.
Camel caravans and modern road construction machinery were the first to cross the bridges.
