Senior students of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism of Turkmenistan successfully completed the practical training at the leading hotels of the major Turkish resort, Antalya, in the past summer season.
In the course of the internship, students consolidated their theoretical knowledge, gained valuable skills in providing tourist and hotel services and communicating with foreign guests, the Institute's curriculum director, Kurbanmurat Sahatov, told Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper. According to him, the students of the Institute also underwent practical training at the leading hotels of Turkmenistan.
"The work is currently underway to establish a scientifically sound system of monitoring the tourism sector's needs for skilled workers and professionals working in the tourism sector. The educational process at the National Institute of Sports and Tourism of Turkmenistan is guided precisely by these requirements," Kurbanmurat Sahatov said.
He noted that special attention is paid to the study of subjects such as "International experience of tourism development", "International experience of hotel services", "Advertising and Information Services", "History of World Civilization", "Role of modern technologies in the development of society". Students study in-depth such subjects as "Business English" and "Business Etiquette".
