The Mejlis of Turkmenistan held the seventh session. According to the official report, heads of relevant ministries and departments, law enforcement officials, representatives of social organizations and media were invited to the session, taking into account the importance of the documents under consideration.
Members of the Mejlis discussed the draft law "On Military Duty and Military Service", "On Defense" as well as the draft law "On Drinking Water." The latter is intended to regulate relations in the field of water supply and ensure an uninterrupted supply of quality drinking water to the population of Turkmenistan.
In addition, the parliamentarians discussed the draft Law "On Approval and Enactment of the Customs Code of Turkmenistan" as well as ways to improve and modernize the structures designed to promote the further development of foreign trade activities in Turkmenistan.
Among the draft laws submitted to the deputies of the Majlis are the draft law "On Election of Members of the People's Council and Gengeshi" that combined into one document the legislative acts regulating the relevant electoral processes that were effective in Turkmenistan until now.
The national parliament also discussed draft laws "On Amending the Civil Code of Turkmenistan" and "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Turkmenistan."
