EastWind Company (Russia, Ekaterinburg) and cellular operator Altyn Asyr, owned by the state telecommunications company Turkmentelekom, signed a contract to expand the exchange capacity of billing system that will allow the national operator of Turkmenistan to serve up to 1 million subscribers.
As Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reported quoting the press service of the company, the billing system of EastWind Billing System has been successfully functioning in the network of Turkmenistan operator since 2008. Since then, the subscriber base of Altyn Asyr increased significantly and reached half a million subscribers in early 2010. Experts predict the continued growth in subscriber numbers due to the expansion of both coverage of the cellular network and the range of services provided to the subscribers.
The national operator of Turkmenistan "Altyn Asyr", using EastWind technologies, provides services in GSM and UMTS (3G) under TM Cell brand.
The contract was signed within the framework of the international specialized exhibitions and conferences "Turkmentel-2010" held in Ashgabat on 15-16 September 2010. The forum was organized by the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan and Summit Trade Events (London, UK) company. The conference was attended by 125 foreign delegates - representatives of 65 foreign governments and international organizations, as well as private companies from 27 countries worldwide.
Commercial Director EastWind Roman Vasiliev delivered a speech at the conference on the role of EastWind in the development of telecommunication services of Turkmenistan.
