The Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan and Rostelekom JSC have concluded an agreement on provision of communication services. As Turkmenistan.ru was informed in the press service of the Russian company, Minister of Communications of Turkmenistan Ovlyaguly Jmagulyev and Rostelecom's Vice President for Business Development Vyacheslav Bykov signed the document during the International Exhibition "Turkmentel- 2010" in Ashgabat.
In the framework of the Agreement, Rostelecom will provide Turkmenistan with an access to allocated international digital communication channels, as well as the Russian and international segment of the Internet. To provide these services it is planned to use telecommunication networks of the company's partners in the Caspian region such as Delta Telecom (Azerbaijan) and TIC (Iranian operator)along with technical resources of Rostelecom.
According to Vyacheslav Volkov, "this agreement opens the opportunity for Rostelecom to enter the telecommunications market of Turkmenistan and enables the company to strengthen partnership relations with operators of Central Asia and the Middle East. It is part of the company's strategy to strengthen its positions in the international market." He also expressed gratitude for the trust placed by the leadership of the Communications Ministry of Turkmenistan that enabled Rostelecom to make its contribution to the further progress of the telecommunications and information technologies sector of Turkmenistan."
