Turkmenistan has a strong ecotourism potential and excellent resource base for environmental, educational and health tourism. This was said by Rodrigo Ortiz, Consultant of Deloitt Consulting (USA) and USAID on improving competitiveness through economic reform, in an interview with the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH). He visited the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea to participate in the international exhibition and conference "Avaza: towards new heights of creation, construction and development" devoted to the further development of the seaside resort "Avaza".
"Among one of the undeniable competitive advantages of Avaza I would name perfect conditions created, as if specifically, by the nature in this part of Turkmenistan for development of tourism. According to the World Tourism Organization, ecotourism is one of the most promising tourist trends of the XXI century. From what I saw those days at Avaza one can make bold predictions about further development of the tourist zone and international cooperation in this sphere," he said.
Ecological tourism (ecotourism) is options, types and methods of cognitive journeys. The main resource and motivation of ecotourism are the natural environment or its individual elements - landscapes, monuments of nature, certain species of plants or animals, or their combination - the natural systems.
