The equestrian centers, being currently built in each of the five provinces of Turkmenistan, will be connected by a system of centralized tote, which will allow fans of horse racing to monitor the progress of races and make their bets at a distance. This was reported by TDH news agency following a visit by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to a racetrack being built in Akhal province.
It is also noted that in each of the regions racetracks with the capacity of up to 3,000 spectators will be equipped with a VIP-tribune, amphitheatres, hall for celebrations, hotels, children's playgrounds. The biggest equestrian in Akhal province with indoor and outdoor stands will be able to accommodate over 7,000 spectators at a time. Each project also provides for construction of stylized facilities in the form of tents for exhibitions and holiday programs in the days of big races.
Two of the new racetracks, corresponding to world standards, are being built by Itera-Invest-Story company, and the remaining racetracks by Turkish and Lebanese companies. It is expected that facilities will be commissioned in October 2010.
