The delegation of the Committee on International and Inter-parliamentary Relations of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan arrived in Moscow on July 26 on the first-ever visit. The delegation will study for three days the experience of the Russian parliament and also discuss with Russian colleagues the prospects of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
As the press service of Russia's upper house said, the visit began with a meeting of the Turkmen MPs with representatives of the Federation Council Committee for CIS Affairs, Vladimir Lityushkinym and Vladimir Babichev. The sides expressed confidence that they "will be able to find a strategically and tactically right track for future cooperation", explore ways of further inter-parliamentary cooperation and perspectives of signing agreements on inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of Russia and the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
The head of the Turkmen parliament delegation, Orazgeldy Hummedov, expressed interest in studying the experience of Russian parliamentarians in improving the legislation in the sphere of international relations, in the economic as well as socio-political spheres.
