A new 3-storey building of Farap sanatorium was inaugurated in Lebap province of Turkmenistan on July 21. It was built on the right bank of the Amu Darya river, near the town of Turkmenabat and Turkmen-Uzbek border.
The new building has 250 beds, diagnostic and medical offices equipped with modern facilities to provide treatment and rehabilitation services. Rooms are designed for 2 people. They have all modern conveniences. Now, the sanatorium "Farap" can receive 2 times more people for health and recreation services than ever before, the official report says.
Patients will have access to treatment with hydrogen sulfide and iodine-bromine water, shower "Charcot" and circular shower, Jacuzzi, and 18 baths. There is also a reservoir of mineral water with highly medicinal properties. Water for the reservoir comes from underground sources. The permanent water temperature is 39 degrees. This water features more than 30 trace elements and chemical compounds that after oxidization give it a yellowish tint. The curative properties of water at Farap sanatorium is widely used in the treatment of rheumatism, diseases of the nervous system, musculoskeletal system, gastrointestinal tract, liver and biliary tract, cardiovascular and skin diseases, etc.
Earlier this year Turkmenistan inaugurated new sanatoriums such as "Archman", "Yyly Suv", renal sanatorium in Bayramali. Work is underway on the development of the famous mud spa "Mollakara".
