During his working trip to Ahal province, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed to the need of "greater involvement of national parliamentarians in addressing the issues of socio-economic development of regions, including rural workers living in remote corners of the Karakum desert."
According to him, "the main purpose of regular visits of parliamentarians should be taking care of the welfare of people, familiarity with the situation on the ground." As the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat, relevant instructions were given to the chairperson of the Mejlis, Akja Nurberdiyeva and Vice Premier Baimuradov Hodzhamuhammedov.
As part of his trip, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the outlying pasture of "Garagum" farmer union of Ruhabat district, where he viewed the pasture of shepherd Atanazar Vellyaev. In an informal atmosphere the head of state talked to the live-stock breeder about the pressing concerns of rural workers.
