Turkmenistan donates books and clothes to representatives of Turkmen diaspora in Tajikistan
Members of the government of Turkmenistan met with representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, the Tajik public, scientists, and teachers and students of Dushanbe universities at the Institute of Oriental Studies and Written Heritage in Dushanbe on March 18.

At the meeting, the head of the Tajik branch of the Humanitarian Association of World Turkmens, Dovlet Kulakov, said that "all the positive initiatives of the Turkmen state, its policy of peace and good neighborly relations enjoy strong support of compatriots living on the Tajik soil."

On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan book written by the head of state, the works of Turkmen classics, as well as sets of national clothes were donated to compatriots.

According to the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH), today the territory of Tajikistan is home to about 25 thousand Turkmens. It is reported that 70 percent of specialists working in medical institutions of Tajikistan are Turkmens. Among the scientists of Turkmen origin there are one doctor of sciences, seven candidates and seven graduate students.

Tajikistan has seven schools with the Turkmen language of learning, which educate nearly three thousand students. The Turkmen cultural society operates in the country since 1994.
