Number of MTS subscribers in Turkmenistan exceeds 1.5 million |
The number of subscribers of MTS Russia in Turkmenistan exceeded the milestone of 1.5 million, and the subscriber base has increased by 500,000 since February 2009.
"Marketing new tariff proposals, improvement of customer services, introduction of innovative technologies and services - all these contributed to the fact that more than 1,5 million citizens of Turkmenistan have chosen mobile services of MTS," MTS Turkmenistan CEO Oleg Atamanov said to Turkmenistan.ru.
According to him, last month the company put into operation 40 new base stations in different regions of the country. New stations have been established in Mary, Dashoguz, Lebap and Balkan provinces. Currently, the network coverage of MTS in Turkmenistan is more than 80%.
"Given the growth of business activity in Turkmenistan, the rapid development of market relations, the implementation of large international investment projects, MTS Turkmenistan has significantly expanded the geography of its roaming partners," Oleg Atamanov said. Today the company offers roaming in the networks of 242 operators in 108 countries, including the preferential roaming tariffs in CIS countries, where subsidiaries of MTS are operating.
It should be recalled that the millionth user was connected to the MTS in Turkmenistan in February 2009.
