Uzbekistan's feature and documentary films demonstrated in Ashgabat
An official ceremony to mark the opening of Days of Uzbek cinema was held at the Turkmen National Youth Theater of Alp Arslan on September 17. The action is taking place in the framework of the programme of bilateral cooperation in cultural and humanitarian sphere for 2008-2010.

On the first day, there were demonstrated the documentary film "The Pearl of the Orient", which tells about the history and present day of the Uzbek capital, and the feature film "The Past Few Days" by Yu.Agzamov, the dramatic action of which takes place in Tashkent at the beginning 19th century, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat.

As part of the film programme, there will be also demonstrated feature film such as "The Yurt" by A.Shahobiddinov, "Channel" by E.Tuychiyev, "18th Square" by D.Kasimov, "Boys in the Sky" by Z.Musakov, "Grandma, the General" by M.Abzalov. The feature film "Road under Heavens" by Kamara Kamalova, which won the State Prize of Uzbekistan and the Best Director prize at the III International Film Festival "Eurasia" in 2006, will acquaint cinema goers with current trends of the Uzbek cinema. The documentary films are represented by such films as "Registan - the Pearl of Samarkand", "Kara Osman", "Imam al-Bukhari", "Khastimom" and others.

The young film fans will see animated films "Gonchar," "Bird", "Susambil", "Two Neighbors and a Melon" and others.
