Russian Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) company is to invest no less than US $ 150 million in joint projects in the next three years, said MTS President Leonid Melamed at a meeting with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat on May 13.

MTS president also said the company is set to increase the number of its subscribers in Turkmenistan to a million. It should be recalled that the number of MTS subscribers in Turkmenistan has increased 2,5 times in one year.

Leonid Melamed also confirmed MTS readiness to provide Turkmenistan with latest telecommunication technologies, including high-speed Internet.

MTS president said his company is ready to invite a group of twenty Turkmen students for training in Russia' s leading higher educational establishments, as well as to support a number of other training programmes implemented in Turkmenistan.

The president of Turkmenistan also got acquainted with new polyphonies for mobile phones that were developed taking account of Turkmen melodies.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov supported MTS's plans for cooperation with Turkmenistan, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat.
