Ireland's first ambassador accredited in Turkmenistan
On March 4, Turkmenistan Mejlis speaker Akja Nurberdiyeva accepted credentials of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to Turkmenistan Justine Harman on the instruction of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov,

During the meeting, the sides agreed that science, education and tourism were promising areas of bilateral partnership. The sides also emphasized the potential of cooperation in the energy sphere, agriculture and specifically horse-breeding, which is well-developed in Ireland, the Turkmen State News Service (TDH) reports. According to the diplomat, Irish businessmen are ready to consolidate their grip on the Turkmen market and join large-scale national projects in Turkmenistan.

On the same day, Irish Ambassador Justine Harman paid homage to the first president of Turkmenistan by laying flowers on the family mausoleum of Saparmurat Niyazov in Kipchak. He also held a meeting at the ministry of foreign affairs of Turkmenistan. On March 5, Justine Harman will hold talks at the ministry of oil and gas and mineral resources, the ministry of education and the Supreme Council for Science and Technologies under the president of Turkmenistan.
