On December 25, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received head of Gap Inshaat company (Turkey) Ahmet Chalyk and Turkish architect Hikmet Shenali. As the Turkmenistan.ru's correspondent reports, during the meeting the sides discussed issues related to the construction of a mosque near the mausoleum of Sheikh Nejmeddin Kubr in Kunyaurgench district of Dashoguz province.
Let us recall that Turkish President Abdullah Gul visited Kunyaurgench district as part of this official visit to Turkmenistan. The presidents of Turkey and Turkmenistan performed pilgrimage (zyyarat) to the mausoleum of Nejmeddin Kubr which is part of the memorial complex Uch Yuz Altmysh (Three hundred sixty).
"Inspired with what we saw, I and the president of Turkmenistan agreed on something important and significant for all of us. We are all Turkmens, and that is why we have decided to build a big mosque next to the mausoleum of Najmeddin Kubr, Abdullah Gul said during the press conference. There are a lot of Turkish businessmen living in Turkmenistan. There is one mosque in Ashgabat, and we are going to build a solid mosque here, in the holy land of Dashoguz."
Hikmet Shenali, the designer of the Ertogrul Gazy mosque which has turned into one of the major sights of Ashgabat, made a request to closely study everything related to the life and work of the famous philosopher, Nejmeddin Kubr.
Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed that a hotel with a large conference hall should be built near the planned mosque.
It is expected that the official ceremony of launching the mosque construction will be held on September 4-6, 2008 in the course of the international conference "Hejmeddin Kubr and the spiritual-cultural world of the Orient" in Kunyaurgench.
