Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the chief executive of Turkish company Polimeks, Erol Tabanja, as part of the second presentation of projects on development of the national tourist zone Avaza.
The Turkish businessmen presented a number of specific infrastructure projects to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. As the Turkmenistan.ru's correspondent reports quoting the press service of the Turkmen president, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed three decrees in the end of the meeting.
According to the documents, the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries is authorized to sign a contract with Polimeks and Ichkale companies for the construction of an artificial navigable river stretching for 7 km through the whole Avaza. The total cost of the project is Euro 180 million. In future, a landscaped recreation zone will be built on the banks of this river, including sport and social-cultural facilities.
Polimeks will also design, reconstruct and lay down a new water supply network and sewage system in the town of Turkmenbashi in Avaza. The total cost of the contract is Euro 130 million. Other than that, on the order of the Turkmenbashi refinery, Polimeks will build a water demineralization plant with the capacity of 35 thousand cubic meters a day in Avaza. The cost of the project exceeds US $ 66 million. According to the decrees, the construction of all three facilities should start in November 2007 and be completed in October 2009.
